Bangkok: The deputy spokesperson for the Pheu Thai Party has emphasized that the Interior Ministry's effort to reclaim land in Khao Kradong is driven by a commitment to protect national interests, rather than a political maneuver against opposition parties.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Khattiya Sawatdiphon, a party-list MP and deputy spokesperson for the Pheu Thai Party, clarified that the land reclamation process adheres to legal principles, ensuring that it is not a discriminatory act or an attempt to undermine the opposition. The initiative, which has faced criticism from some political factions, is described as a legal and transparent measure to safeguard the country's interests.
The Pheu Thai Party assures the public that the reclamation was conducted in accordance with legal procedures, including a thorough review of title deeds, court decisions, and enforcement actions by relevant state agencies. Ms. Khattiya emphasized that the process was non-discriminatory and aimed solely at reclaiming state land that rightfully belongs to all citizens. The approach is meant to prevent any instance of encroachment or unlawful possession from setting a judicial precedent that could destabilize justice in the nation.
Ms. Khattiya further asserted that the Pheu Thai Party is committed to ensuring that national resources are not exploited for personal gain, regardless of the individuals or political affiliations involved. The government's actions are driven by prudence, sincerity, and transparency, with decisions made after careful consideration and consultation with various stakeholders to protect the interests of the country and its people.
