Bangkok: Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) has achieved a remarkable feat by securing the prestigious Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards 2025 (AREA) in three categories, marking the seventh consecutive year of recognition for its outstanding contributions. Dr. Mongkol Treekijjanon, PEA Governor, proudly accepted the awards at the Athene Crystal Hall of The Athene Hotel.
According to Thai News Agency, PEA's accolades in 2025 include the Social Empowerment category for its innovative "Clean Energy for the Community (Solar Electric Boat)" initiative. This project not only promotes renewable energy usage but also aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, thereby combating global warming. By fostering community participation, it enhances the management and development of tourist attractions, ensuring they are environmentally friendly and community-oriented. The initiative has successfully developed a prototype electric boat engine that operates on electricity, replacing traditional oil-driven motors.
In the Corporate Sustainability Reporting category, PEA's Sustainability Report for 2023 was recognized. This report is prepared in accordance with the GRI Standards international reporting framework, providing transparency about the organization's sustainability performance across economic, social, and environmental dimensions. It offers insights into PEA's management approach, enabling stakeholders to understand the organization's efforts and commitments.
The third accolade was in the Corporate Governance category, awarded for the "Cho Sa-at Village" initiative. This project, in collaboration with the Anti-Corruption Foundation, focuses on enhancing morality and transparency to prevent corruption. It aligns with the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, promoting honesty and integrity among PEA employees, youth, and the public. The initiative involves the "PEA Clean Flower Village Project," which integrates social and environmental activities under the organization's Sustainable Transparency Plan. PEA has engaged with community leaders and stakeholders to address their needs and support their livelihoods or careers effectively.
The AREA 2025 awards event was organized by Enterprise Asia, a regional non-governmental organization committed to recognizing organizations that align with ESG principles and contribute significantly to sustainable development in Asia.
