Paethongtarn Visits Songkhla to Address Water Management and Tourism

Bangkok: "Paethongtarn" Prime Minister, Paethongtarn Shinawatra, visited Songkhla Province to oversee water management strategies, address seafood production and export challenges, and encourage tourism in the historic city ahead of a mobile cabinet meeting scheduled for tomorrow.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, along with Dr. Prommin Lertsuridej, Secretary-General to the Prime Minister, arrived in Songkhla Province for the mobile cabinet meeting on February 17-18. Despite her presence, she refrained from engaging with the media.

On February 16, the Prime Minister's itinerary included a visit to the Songkhla Lake Basin at 1:00 p.m. to assess water management efforts at the Talay Noi Viewpoint in Khuan Khanun District, Phatthalung Province. She later proceeded to the Thai Union Seafood Company in Singhanakhon District, Songkhla Province, to discuss issues related to seafood production and export. In the evening, she explored the old town community of Songkhla to address tourism-related concerns and to promote the area in line with government policy.

The following day, February 17, Ms. Paethongtarn chaired the mobile cabinet meeting at the 60th Anniversary of His Majesty the King's Accession to the Throne International Convention Center, located at Prince of Songkla University, Hat Yai District. Post-meeting, she visited the Sadao Customs Checkpoint in Sadao District to review Thai-Malaysian border trade and assessed the progress on constructing a road connecting the new Sadao Customs Checkpoint with the Bukit Kayu Hitam Checkpoint in Malaysia, before returning to Bangkok.
