September 28, 2024 Mr. Siripong Angkasakulkiat, Advisor to the Minister of Education, acting as the spokesperson of the Ministry of Education, revealed the establishment of a serious disciplinary investigation committee in the case of the Director of the Secondary Education Service Area Office, Sa Kaeo Province (Director of the Sa Kaeo Secondary Education Service Area Office) being accused of being guilty in the announcement of the list of candidates who passed the selection and recruitment of general civil servants for the position of teacher, which was found to be incorrect and caused damage to the government. It also directly affected the image and credibility of the Ministry of Education (MOE). Mr. Siripong said that th e Ministry of Education has shown clarity in solving the problem by establishing a committee to investigate serious disciplinary violations of the Director of the Sa Kaeo Secondary Educational Service Area Office to ensure that the investigation process is thorough and transparent. In this regard, the Ministry of Education has ordered the temporary suspension of the Director of the Sa Kaeo Secondary Educational Service Area Office until the investigation results are complete, which is a measure to prevent interference or impact on the investigation in order to create fairness for all parties. Meanwhile, Pol. Gen. Phermpoon Chidchob, Minister of Education, has appointed a fact-finding committee consisting of police, prosecutors and officials from the central Education Ministry to work on another set. He has sent all evidence to the Forensic Science Division of the Royal Thai Police to examine it for clarity and confirm that there was no alteration or modification of evidence. Mr. Siripong emphasized that 'Th e work of the investigation committee of the Ministry of Education will not overlap with the external agencies that are participating in the investigation, but will work in parallel to expedite the search for the facts, which will definitely not be delayed. The Ministry of Education is ready to present the facts to society at every step to prevent such incidents from happening again. He also emphasized that this investigation process is in accordance with the principles of good governance to restore confidence in the education system and clear up all doubts for society.'
