Bangkok: Meteorology reveals that some areas of northern Thailand will be extremely hot, while some areas of Bangkok will experience thunderstorms. The Meteorological Department has announced that some areas of northern Thailand will experience extremely hot weather, urging people to take precautions for their health due to the hot to extremely hot conditions. Meanwhile, the southern region is expected to have little rainfall, and Bangkok, along with its vicinity, will face hot weather with thunderstorms in some areas.
According to Thai News Agency, the Meteorological Department forecasts that the upper part of Thailand will be generally hot with haze, and some areas will experience very hot weather. This is attributed to low pressure from heat covering the region, along with wind lines from the southwest and south, which will cause thunderstorms and strong winds in certain areas. Residents in these regions are advised to avoid prolonged outdoor activities and to be cautious of thunderstorms and strong winds.
The easterly and southeasterly winds affecting the Gulf of Thailand, the South, and the Andaman Sea are weak, resulting in minimal rainfall in the southern regions. The waves in these areas are about 1 meter high, but can exceed this height during thunderstorms.
Furthermore, between March 29 and April 1, 2025, a high-pressure area or moderate cold air mass from China will extend to cover the upper parts of Vietnam, Laos, the Northeast, and the South China Sea. This will cause easterly and southeasterly winds to bring moisture to the upper part of Thailand, leading to summer storms characterized by thunderstorms, strong gusts of wind, hail, and lightning. Residents are advised to avoid traveling or staying in open areas, under large trees, weak structures, and billboards. Farmers should prepare to protect their crops and ensure the safety of agricultural products and livestock.
Additionally, dust and smog accumulation in the northern and northeastern regions remains high due to weakening winds, contributing to health concerns. In Bangkok and surrounding areas, the weather will be generally hot with haze and isolated thunderstorms, with temperatures ranging from a minimum of 26-28 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 34-38 degrees Celsius.
