Bangkok: The Meteorological Department has announced that some areas of northern Thailand will experience extremely hot weather. According to Thai News Agency, the Meteorological Department forecasts the weather for the next 24 hours. Low pressure due to heat will cover the upper part of Thailand, causing the area to be generally hot and some areas to be very hot. Meanwhile, the southwest and southeast winds will cover the upper part of Thailand, causing thunderstorms and strong winds in some areas. People in the upper part of Thailand should beware of the dangers of thunderstorms and strong winds, and take care of their health due to the hot to very hot weather by avoiding working or doing activities outdoors for a long period of time.
For the easterly and southeasterly winds covering the Gulf of Thailand, the South and the Andaman Sea, the aforementioned areas will continue to have some thunderstorms. In the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea, waves will be approximately 1 meter high. In areas with thunderstorms, waves will be higher than 2 meters. Sailors in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are advised to avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms.
In addition, during 12-14 April 2025, a high-pressure area or moderate cold air mass from China will spread down to cover the northeastern region of Thailand and the South China Sea, while the upper part of Thailand will have hot to very hot weather. This condition will cause summer storms in the aforementioned areas, with thunderstorms, strong gusts of wind, and hail in some areas, as well as lightning that may occur in some areas.
Weather conditions affecting dust accumulation during this period: Dust/smog accumulation in the northern and northeastern regions is moderate to quite high with a tendency to remain stable or decrease due to rain in these areas.
