Bangkok: Thai people have shown a strong preference for Nattaphong Ruangpanyawut as their choice for prime minister, according to a recent survey conducted by Nida Poll. The poll results indicate that Nattaphong, representing the Prachachon Party, is favored because of his status as a new generation leader who is clear, modern, and straightforward in his political stance. According to Thai News Agency, the 'Quarterly Political Popularity Survey No. 2-2568' was conducted by the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) between June 19-25, 2568. The survey targeted individuals aged 18 and over from various regions, education levels, occupations, and incomes, encompassing a total of 2,500 respondents nationwide. The survey revealed that 31.48 percent of participants chose Nattaphong Ruangpanyawut as their preferred candidate for prime minister. The second spot was occupied by 19.88 percent of respondents who felt that no suitable candidate had emerged yet. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, known for his honesty and efforts to bring peace to the country, garnered 12.72 percent of the support, placing him third. Anutin Charnvirakul, from the Bhumjaithai Party, secured fourth place with 9.64 percent of the votes due to his decision-making skills and governance experience. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, known as Ung Ing, ranked fifth with 9.20 percent, recognized for her determination despite limited experience. In sixth place, 6.48 percent of those surveyed supported Mr. Pirapan Salirathavibhaga of the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party, citing his reliability and legal expertise. Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan of the Thai Sang Thai Party was seventh with 6.12 percent, praised for his experience and clear stance. General Prawit Wongsuwan from the Palang Pracharath Party was chosen by 1.48 percent of respondents, appreciated for his decisiveness and problem-solving abilities. Additionally, 2.92 percent of respondents indicated support for other political figures, including Mr. Chalermchai Sri-on, Mr. Warawut Silpa-archa, and o thers from various political parties. A small fraction, 0.08 percent, expressed no interest or did not provide an answer. When asked about their preferred political party, 46.08 percent of respondents supported the Prachachon Party. The Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party followed with 13.24 percent, and the Pheu Thai Party received 11.52 percent support. Bhumjaithai Party was favored by 9.76 percent, while 7.72 percent of participants had not yet found a suitable party. The Thai Sang Thai Party, Palang Pracharath Party, and Democrat Party received smaller percentages of support, along with some lesser-known parties.
