NACC’s Decision on Investigating Paethongtarn Remains Unconfirmed

Bangkok: "Saroj" does not confirm that the NACC has resolved to set up a committee to investigate the ethics standards of "Paethongtarn" regarding the audio clip of a conversation with "Hun Sen", saying that he does not know the details.

According to Thai News Agency, reporters reported that after there was a news report that the meeting of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) unanimously resolved to appoint an investigation committee in the case of Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, who committed a serious violation of ethical standards. This included an audio clip of a conversation between Ms. Paethongtarn and Samdech Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Senate, regarding the conflict along the Thai-Cambodian border. Mr. Suchart Trakulkasemsuk, Chairman of the NACC, and Mr. Praphas Kong-iet, a member of the NACC, were reportedly set to join the investigation committee.

Mr. Saroj Phuengramphan, Secretary-General of the NACC, gave an interview about the news, stating that he did not know yet because he had attended a meeting of the Subcommittee on Integrated Plans in the House of Representatives' Special Committee to consider the draft of the 2026 Budget Expenditure Act at the Parliament since morning. He did not know the details yet and there was no confirmation.
