Myanmar Soldiers Fail to Hold White Bedo Pagoda Base Amid Intense Bombing

Bangkok: Myanmar soldiers could not resist the capture of the White Bedo pagoda base, which collapsed despite continuous bombing efforts by planes throughout the day.

According to Thai News Agency, Col. Natthakorn Rueantip, Commander of the Rajamanu Task Force, Naresuan Force, disclosed the ongoing conflict along the Myanmar-Thailand border. The fighting occurred near Ban Huai Nam Nak, Village No. 4, Tambon Phop Phra, Amphoe Phop Phra, Tak Province, roughly 1 kilometer from the border.

The Myanmar military employed a Y-12 aircraft to conduct surveillance and dropped around 30 bombs in an attempt to counter the KNLA forces near the White Pagoda base in Ban Bedo, Sugari District, Myawaddy District, Karen State, Myanmar. This was intended to support the defense of their stronghold, which had been surrounded and attacked by the KNLA.

By 19:00, the KNLA successfully seized control of the base, capturing numerous weapons and pieces of equipment. Some Myanmar soldiers surrendered, while others fled. The Rajamanu Task Force and Naresuan Army have been closely monitoring the situation, increasing patrols, and deploying supporting weapons to prevent any breaches of sovereignty by foreign armed forces and to ensure the safety of the local populace round the clock.
