Paris: The Minister of Foreign Affairs delivered a joint statement promoting cooperation with the OECD to promote inclusive growth at the OECD Ministerial Meeting (MCM) in Paris. Mr. Maris Sangiampong, Minister of Foreign Affairs, emphasized Thailand’s commitment to promoting inclusive growth during a discussion on “Promoting inclusive economic growth to advance members’ sustainable development” at the OECD Ministerial Council meeting.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sangiampong reiterated his intention to work closely with the OECD as part of Thailand’s accession process. This cooperation aims to strengthen Thai micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in both regional and global value chains. Additionally, the Minister highlighted the importance of securing access to finance for green transition investments and enhancing international cooperation on key issues, such as the European Union’s European Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
The Minister further stated Thailand’s intention to join the OECD by 2030, with the goal of fostering inclusive and sustainable economic growth. As part of this commitment, Thailand plans to prioritize sustainable, high-quality investment and anti-corruption measures. The country will also initiate the process of joining the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention to further these objectives.
