Bangkok: The Meteorological Department warns of heavy to very heavy rain throughout Thailand, which may cause flash floods, mudslides, and landslides. The northern, northeastern, central regions, including Bangkok and its vicinity, the eastern region, and the western coast of the southern region are expected to experience severe weather conditions. Residents are urged to remain vigilant as the accumulated rain could lead to flash floods, forest runoff, and mudslides. Those living on hillsides, near waterways, and in low-lying areas are particularly advised to exercise caution, especially in regions prone to recurring flooding. According to Thai News Agency, precautions should also be taken by farmers to mitigate the potential impact on agricultural products and livestock. This can include enhancing the drainage systems in fields to minimize damage, as the prevailing monsoon trough is currently affecting the upper parts of Thailand and the upper southern region. Additionally, the southwest monsoon, which is b lowing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand, remains moderate. Wave conditions in the Andaman Sea are also of concern, with moderate waves expected. The upper Andaman Sea is experiencing waves about 2 meters high, while the lower Andaman Sea has waves ranging from 1 to 2 meters. Thunderstorm areas may see waves rising above 2 meters. Sailors navigating the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are advised to proceed with caution, avoiding areas with thunderstorms. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea are particularly urged not to venture out to sea.
