Bangkok: The Minister of Public Health, Mr. Somsak Thepsuthin, has expressed his anticipation of receiving the official results of the Medical Council’s resolution to punish three doctors.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Somsak emphasized that he has yet to receive the detailed results of the investigation and reiterated the importance of adhering to the legal process. He pointed out that there is a 15-day period to consider the resolution once he receives it, and urged the public to refrain from speculation.
Mr. Somsak addressed concerns that some parties are attempting to pressure him into vetoing the Medical Council’s decision, clarifying that he has not yet begun the consideration process. He stressed that he has not seen the investigation results or the names of the involved individuals. The Minister assured that upon receiving the necessary documents, he would evaluate them thoroughly and in accordance with the law.
In his remarks, Mr. Somsak also warned politicians against politicizing the Medical Council’s findings, which could lead to public confusion. He urged for patience and adherence to due process, highlighting the lack of detailed information currently available. The Minister requested that society refrain from making assumptions until the official details are released, to ensure fairness for all parties involved.
