MEA Inspects Pradiphat Substation Following Power Outage

Bangkok: MEA inspected equipment at the Pradiphat substation after a power outage, emphasizing the need to quickly fix the problem and prevent a recurrence.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sathit Phongsathornwiboon, Assistant Governor of the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), visited the Pradiphat Substation in Phaya Thai District to thoroughly inspect the equipment and surrounding environment following a power outage in the Saphan Khwai, Pradiphat Road, and Rama VI Road areas last night.

This field visit is part of an urgent measure to investigate the cause of the incident and address the equipment malfunction. The effort is also aimed at preventing similar incidents from recurring in the future. MEA has ordered increased intensity in inspections and maintenance of the power distribution system, integrating work with relevant agencies in all areas, strengthening corrective and preventative measures, reviewing maintenance plans, and increasing the frequency of inspections at all MEA power stations. Furthermore, a meeting will be held to discuss joint approaches to inspecting the power system, including at-risk areas, with public safety being the top priority.
