Buriram: A masked man armed with a box cutter robbed a convenience store at a gas station in Buriram province, fleeing with nearly 10,000 baht and a mobile phone on a motorcycle. Police are actively reviewing CCTV footage along the suspect's route to apprehend him.
According to Thai News Agency, the suspect, dressed in long pants, a black long-sleeved shirt, a face mask, and a headlamp, initially posed as a customer. After purchasing an item, he returned to threaten the cashier with a box cutter, calmly stealing a cell phone and cash from the drawer.
The incident occurred around 2 a.m. at a gas station on the Khok Wan-Lahan Sai Road in Lahan Sai District, as the perpetrator filled up with 50 baht of gas, possibly to scope out the area. About an hour later, a man aged 40-50 returned, pretending to buy more items before committing the robbery. The thief took about 5,000 baht from the employee's waist bag and drawer, along with the station's mobile phone, totaling 10,000 baht in stolen goods.
Gas station employees are urging for the suspect's swift capture, expressing concern about potential repeat offenses. Meanwhile, officers from the Lahansai Police Station continue to analyze surveillance footage to track down the suspect and prosecute him.
