Bangkok: "Kan Jom Phalang" has made a significant move by storming the Ministry of Education to address a disturbing incident involving a man resembling a teacher who allegedly filmed a perverted video at a school. This alarming situation has incited fear among students, teachers, and parents, leading to swift action from educational authorities. The Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) has responded by transferring the individual in question to the Secondary Educational Service Area Office and establishing a fact-finding committee to investigate the matter.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Kan Jom Phalang traveled to the Ministry to lodge a formal complaint, providing substantial evidence, including photos and video clips, of a man dressed like a teacher engaging in inappropriate behavior on school premises. The man reportedly shared the footage on social media, and Mr. Theer Phawangkanan, Deputy Secretary-General of the OBEC, has officially received the case.
Mr. Kan Chom Phalang disclosed that concerned parents and teachers from Uthai Thani Province reached out for assistance after the man, who appeared masked and unclothed in various parts of the school, posted the bizarre video online. The individual, adorned with a Batman mask and a chain around his neck, was seen acting inappropriately on the school stairs and inside a classroom. Disturbingly, the clips depict him in a teacher's uniform, later stripping down to red underwear while pretending to teach.
Further complicating the situation, an audio clip of the school director has surfaced. The director is heard advising against reporting the incident to avoid tarnishing the school's reputation, urging teachers and students to maintain silence. Mr. Kan questioned the director's stance, emphasizing the potential danger to students and the need for transparency rather than secrecy.
In response, Mr. Theer Phawankanan confirmed that OBEC has received a report from the Uthai Thani Secondary Education Service Area Office and has notified the Minister of Education. The implicated teacher has been temporarily reassigned, and a fact-finding committee has been established to ensure a fair and thorough investigation into professional ethics and additional allegations of misconduct, including an inappropriate chat with a student.
Additionally, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ponrapee Thummaphan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Teachers Council, announced that the matter is under urgent review by the Professional Ethics Committee to determine any ethical violations.
