Madam Pang Unveils Four Bidders for Thai League Football Rights

Bangkok: 'Madam Pang' Nualphan Lamsam, the President of the Football Association of Thailand, announced during the annual general meeting held at Centara Grand at Central Ladprao Hotel that four companies have entered the bidding process for the Thai League football rights for the next four seasons. The meeting saw participation from 65 voting member clubs, along with representatives from the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Asian Football Confederation.

According to Thai News Agency, Madam Pang detailed the progress in the auction for the rights to Thai League 1 and Thai League 2 for the seasons from 2025/26 to 2028/29. Among the bidders are AIS in partnership with Jasmine, the current copyright holder for broadcasting the English Premier League, BG Sport and True, plus an international company. This development is viewed positively by member clubs, as financial support has already been distributed to teams in Thai League 1, 2, and 3 for this season.

In addition, Madam Pang addressed the ongoing legal matter involving 'Big Odd' Pol. Gen. Somyot Pumpanmuang, the former president of the association, concerning financial damages to the association. The Supreme Court has ordered the Football Association to pay 360 million baht in damages, plus over 200 million baht in interest, to Siam Sport Syndicate Public Company Limited. Currently, no legal actions are being taken as the association plans to settle this debt with Siam Sport before proceeding further. A negotiation team has been established to handle discussions with Siam Sport.

Madam Pang reassured members that despite the financial challenges, the association is committed to persevering. She also announced the upcoming launch of the "Thai people love Thai football" campaign on March 31.

Meanwhile, "Tono" Pakin Khamwilaisak, acting president of Kasetsart FC in Thai League 2, attended the event but did not participate in the meeting. He refrained from commenting on his future role as president, stating his current focus is on the quota playoffs for Thai League 1, rather than team ownership or management decisions for the next season.
