Lion Attacks Zookeeper at Private Zoo in Khan Na Yao

Khan na yao: A lion at a private zoo attacked and dragged an officer, causing severe injuries. The incident was captured on video by tourists visiting the zoo.

According to Thai News Agency, Police Colonel Nirutphon Yothamat, Superintendent of Khan Na Yao Police Station, reported that the attack occurred when the zookeeper went to feed the lion against company regulations. The lion was initially in a critical condition and was taken to a hospital following the attack. Investigations are underway as authorities have contacted zookeepers for questioning and to file official reports. No relatives of the injured zookeeper have come forward to file a report.

The incident was recorded by tourists who were in the lion exhibit area at the time. The zoo features a large fenced area that allows vehicles to enter and exit, providing an open area for visitors to drive through. Signs are posted to prohibit opening windows and exiting vehicles. Zoo vehicles are stationed inside for security, and lion feeding shows are occasionally conducted within the premises.
