Nakhon Ratchasima: Police have taken a likay actor into custody for the murder of his autistic stepson and alleged rape of his 11-year-old daughter. The actor, known as Rak Yim Thapthim Siam, confessed to the crime, claiming anger and intoxication as his motives.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident involved Mr. Kittithat, age 48, a likay actor who used a hammer to assault his autistic stepson, resulting in a fatal brain hemorrhage. The suspect was apprehended by the Nakhon Ratchasima Police at a residence in Lahan Sai District, Buriram Province, as he attempted to flee to Cambodia. He was subsequently taken to the Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Police Station for questioning.
The investigation revealed that Mr. Kittithat confessed during police interrogation, admitting that the deceased verbally abused him, which led to the crime while he was intoxicated. Initially, charges were pressed for 'causing harm to another person resulting in death.' However, the allegations of indecent acts against his young daughter remain under investigation, pending further evidence.
This tragic case began when Ms. Mew, 46, a likay actress and mother of the victim, reported the incident to Ms. Pawina Hongsakul, president of the Pawina Hongsakul Foundation for Children and Women. Her eldest son, who had autism, was assaulted by Mr. Touch, the stepfather, on May 23. The victim's condition deteriorated rapidly, leading to his death on May 27. A bloodied hammer was discovered at the scene, prompting Ms. Mew to seek medical attention for her son before his passing.
In addition to this incident, Mr. Touch had previously abused his youngest daughter, who revealed that the abuse began when she was just 8 years old. She had been threatened with harm to her family if she disclosed the abuse, which she eventually reported at the age of 11.
The police continue to investigate the full extent of Mr. Kittithat's actions as he remains in custody awaiting trial.
