According to Thai News Agency, the veteran actor's passing at 3:00 AM on June 3, 2025, in Nakhon Ratchasima Province has deeply saddened the Thai entertainment industry. The chanting of prayers will be held at Wat Makut Kasatriyaram Ratchaworawihan, with a water pouring ceremony scheduled for June 4, 2025.
'Pairoj Sangwaribut' is a name etched in the hearts of many generations of Thais, known for his role as 'Tum' in the famous movie 'Wai Arun' from 1967-1977. He is remembered as a hero who transcended time, evolving from a hip teenager to a skilled director, and maintaining his status as a significant figure in Thai film history.
Born on May 18, 1953, in Si Sawat District, Kanchanaburi Province, Pairoj grew up in a family with strong ties to the entertainment industry. He was the son of Mr. Karam Sangwaribut and Mrs. Phonphan Wannamat, and had an older sister, Jirapa Panchasilp, owner of the Atchawadi Radio Drama Group. He was also the nephew of Pairot Sangwaribut, a National Artist in Performing Arts.
