Kusumalawati Urges DSI to Probe Khao Kradong Land Case, Targets Anutin Charnvirakul for Alleged Misconduct

Bangkok: 'Kusumalawati', a former candidate for Senator, has formally requested the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to investigate and prosecute those involved in the controversial Khao Kradong land case in Buriram Province. She submitted her petition to Pol. Lt. Col. Yuthana Phraedam, Director-General of DSI, with Pol. Lt. Col. Woranan Srilam, Director of the Consumer Protection Division and DSI spokesperson, acting as the receiving representative.

According to Thai News Agency, Kusumalawati Sirikomut has accused Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, and his associates of legal violations during Anutin's tenure overseeing the Ministry of Interior. The allegations involve the issuance of title deeds for state land to private parties, contravening Article 60, which prohibits such actions. Kusumalawati claims that a committee was established to exploit legal loopholes, benefiting associates like Newin Chidchob with numerous title deeds. She has submitted all related information to the DSI and intends to pursue justice through public awareness and media exposure.

Kusumalawati has called for the cancellation of unlawful orders and the revocation of rights obtained illegally. She seeks a thorough DSI investigation into the alleged abuse of power by the Land Department and related parties. Additionally, she plans to file a complaint with the Ministry of Transport, highlighting discrepancies in the State Railway of Thailand's (SRT) land management under Bhumjaithai Party oversight. She argues that the land in question, originally royal land granted by King Rama V and VI, should serve the public interest rather than benefit select individuals.

Despite potential backlash, Kusumalawati remains resolute in her fight against corruption, citing past incidents as motivation to seek justice. Her efforts aim to reclaim the disputed Khao Kradong land for Thailand, emphasizing the need for accountability among those in power. Kusumalawati also questions the role of civil servants and political officials in supporting such activities, suggesting that adherence to legal rulings, such as those by the Supreme Court, should prevail over political motives.

Pol. Lt. Col. Woranan Srilam has assured that the DSI will assign the Special Case Administration Division to advance the case, following the receipt of Kusumalawati's documents. Kusumalawati maintains that her fight is not for personal gain but for the benefit of the Thai people, underscoring the urgency for transparent and just governance.
