Bangkok: Ms. Kusumalawati Sirikomut, a former Senate candidate, made an unexpected visit to the Office of the Secretary-General of the House of Representatives to file an ethics complaint against Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul. Her visit was unannounced to the media stationed at the parliament, but coincidentally, some media personnel encountered her during the process.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Kusumalawati emphasized her discreet approach, stating that she wished to avoid publicity while addressing ethical concerns regarding Mr. Anutin's roles as an MP and leader of the Bhumjaithai Party. She highlighted the importance of maintaining dignity and protecting national interests, suggesting that her actions were driven by these principles.
"You can't just do one thing. You have to understand the principles. You have to be a gentleman. Doing this is already a criminal court case. So I came to report the ethics as Mr. Anutin is a member of the House of Representatives. The Bhumjaithai Party is unethical. And I will submit it to the Ombudsman and the National Anti-Corruption Commission. Let's stop being so cocky. You know the little cat," Ms. Kusumalawati declared, reinforcing her commitment to pursue the matter through appropriate legal channels.
Ms. Kusumalawati further stated her determination to press ahead with the complaint despite opposition, asserting that no one has the authority to deter her. She clarified that her actions were independent of any government affiliations, emphasizing accountability for wrongdoing.
"You scold me, you hurt me, there must be punishment, you can't do whatever you want," she remarked, underscoring her resolve to pursue justice in the face of criticism and personal affronts.
