“Kla Tham” Urges Halt to Provocations, Asserts Thai Sovereignty Is Non-Negotiable

Bangkok: Kla Tham Spokesperson reiterates that Thai sovereignty is never negotiated, urging all parties to stop provoking because losses should not occur unnecessarily.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Akkhasankhiree Lohwira, Chaiyaphum MP and spokesman of the Kla Tham Party, addressed the ongoing conflict on the Thai-Cambodian border, emphasizing that Thai sovereignty is non-negotiable. He stated his confidence that the government would not concede even a fraction of this sovereignty. While acknowledging the paramount importance of sovereignty, he stressed the need for all parties to be aware of the potential losses if the situation escalates.

Mr. Akkarasan Khiri noted that managing the conflict is a responsibility of the army and security forces, who must act cautiously to ensure the peace and safety of citizens. He urged collaboration among the opposition, government, and citizens to support a constructive resolution to the issue, emphasizing that peace is achieved through understanding, not conflict.

He further stated that the country’s priority should be cooperation rather than manipulation for political advantage, highlighting that negotiations could help de-escalate tensions and prevent violence. Mr. Akkarasenkiree urged the government to communicate Thailand’s commitment to peace internationally, while also protecting its sovereignty. He cautioned against political groups using provocative rhetoric that could exacerbate the conflict, stressing that national interests should precede political agendas.
