Bangkok: 'Kham' has responded to comments made by Thanadon Suwannarit, advisor to the Minister of Agriculture, urging him to avoid making ambiguous statements that could potentially harm others. Karma, he states, serves as a true measure of one's intentions.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Karom Polpornklang, a member of the Bhumjaithai Party, addressed the situation involving Mr. Thanadon Suwannarit, who is currently investigating whether Sor Por Kor land was improperly issued with a title deed. The investigation encompasses a golf course linked to a prominent politician. In his statements, Mr. Thanadon specified the golf course in question as belonging to Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and leader of the Bhumjaithai Party. Mr. Anutin clarified that the golf course is a family business and was acquired legally.
Mr. Karom highlighted the key task of Mr. Thanadon Suwannarit, which involves verifying the legality of the land title deed issuance, particularly whether it was issued by Sor Por Kor. Moreover, Mr. Noppadol acknowledged that individuals residing in self-sufficient settlements for five years can receive a land title deed.
Mr. Karom criticized Mr. Thanadon's actions, stating, "Mr. Thanadol's responsibility to examine the Sor Por Kor land was fulfilled, yet there was no justification for causing suspicion regarding the ownership of the golf course under scrutiny. He was unaware that the golf course was part of Mr. Anutin's family business and acknowledged that it held a valid title deed."
Continuing, Mr. Karom pointed out that the Land Department has confirmed that land issued under N.K. 3 within a self-sufficient settlement is eligible for a title deed as per the Land Code, thus affirming the legality of such issuances. However, Mr. Thanadon's public remarks on both valid and invalid aspects of the case, coupled with his press conference, have sown confusion about the legality of Mr. Anutin's golf course acquisition. Mr. Karom stressed that Mr. Thanadon must have anticipated the societal confusion and the negative impact on Mr. Anutin's reputation, both personally and politically, resulting from his statements.
