Rio de janeiro: Ms. Jiraporn Sindhuprai, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister's Office, will lead the Thai delegation to attend the 17th BRICS Leaders' Meeting from July 6-7, 2025. The meeting, taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will gather leaders from all 10 BRICS member countries and various partner nations. Thailand is participating as a BRICS Partner Country.
According to Thai News Agency, the BRICS Leaders' Meeting will be held under the theme 'Strengthening South Cooperation for a More Inclusive and Sustainable Governance.' As the Chair of BRICS this year, Brazil's agenda will focus on six main areas: public health; trade, investment, and finance; climate change; governance of artificial intelligence; reform of multilateralism for peace and security; and development of BRICS institutional mechanisms.
The meeting presents a significant opportunity for Thailand to demonstrate its commitment to enhancing cooperation with the BRICS group, aiming for the mutual benefit of developing countries. Thailand intends to strengthen economic and financial ties and promote collaboration in artificial intelligence, the environment, and public health.
