Irish National Severely Injured in Pattaya Stabbing Incident

Pattaya: An Irish man was chased and slashed by a foreigner riding a motorcycle in front of a condo in the middle of Pattaya, sustaining serious injuries.

According to Thai News Agency, at 01.36 a.m., the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center in Pattaya received a report of a violent incident involving foreigners, with one person severely injured. The incident occurred in front of a condominium on Soi Thepprasit 17 in Pattaya. After receiving the report, the Pattaya City Police patrol unit and rescue volunteers were contacted to inspect the scene. They found the body of a foreign man, identified as Mr. Scott Thomas Lacy, a 34-year-old Irish national, who had been injured by a sharp object on his left arm, abdomen, and both legs. He was lying in a pool of blood on the side of the road next to a motorcycle with a red license plate. On the road, a folding knife was also found at the scene. The police collected it as evidence while the rescue workers provided first aid and sent the injured man to the hospital.

A security guard at a nearby condo reported that he saw the injured person riding a motorcycle back from a convenience store. Upon arrival at the scene, another foreigner on a motorcycle approached him and kicked Mr. Lacy's motorcycle, causing it to fall. The attacker then proceeded to stab him again, showing no regard for the law. After the attack, the assailant quickly fled the scene on his motorcycle, leaving Mr. Lacy lying in a pool of blood.

Following the incident, Pattaya City Police acted swiftly to apprehend the perpetrator based on the security guard's description. They coordinated with the investigation team to gather clues, aiming to track down and arrest the suspect for prosecution.
