Chinese Man Arrested for Grisly Murder of Partner in Pattaya

Pattaya: Police have arrested a Chinese man accused of a shocking murder involving the brutal killing of his partner in central Pattaya. The body, found in an apartment bathroom, displayed signs of a slashed chest with the heart removed and one lung missing.

According to Thai News Agency, Pattaya City Police investigators, alongside officers from the Forensic Science Division 2, Chonburi, and medical professionals from Pattaya Pathomkun Hospital, inspected the crime scene in an apartment building on Soi Arunothai, Pattaya Klang. The body of Mr. Woranan, a 25-year-old transgender woman from Nong Khai Province, was discovered naked, lying in a pool of blood with a deep chest wound. Authorities believe the victim had been deceased for at least five hours before being found.

The apartment maid reported to the police that she heard an altercation around 2 a.m. between a Chinese man and a ladyboy, followed by cries for help. Loud noises persisted for about an hour. In the morning, using a spare key, she discovered the victim's body and promptly alerted the authorities.

The apartment manager disclosed that Mr. Fu Dongyuan, a 42-year-old Chinese national, had rented the room for a week starting April 25. CCTV footage showed Mr. Fu leaving the premises with a suitcase early in the morning.

The Pattaya City Police Chief indicated that initial evidence suggested a violent argument occurred between the deceased and Mr. Fu, leading to the assumption that the assault may have been unintended. Investigators are exploring the relationship between the suspect and the victim, including any premeditation involved.

Mr. Fu Dongyuan was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi Airport while attempting to flee the country. Pol. Maj. Gen. Chengron Rimphidi reported that Mr. Fu tried to evade detection by using the automatic passport control channel. However, due to fresh wounds on his face and body, he was identified by immigration officers as a suspect in the murder case and subsequently detained for further legal proceedings.
