According to Thai News Agency, the Mae Hong Son Tourist Police have established a public service point and erected signs urging tourists to respect local culture and dress appropriately. On the day of the visit, five tourists were arrested and fined for smoking marijuana in public. To ensure safety and order, the Tourist Police have also deployed bicycle patrols in the area.
