Chiang rai: Pha Muang Task Force soldiers intercepted a motorcycle gang in the middle of a mountain in Chiang Rai Province. They were transporting 600,000 methamphetamine pills and 7 kg of heroin. The gang then abandoned their vehicles and fled.
According to Thai News Agency, Pha Muang Task Force, 31st Ranger Regiment, inspected seized methamphetamine and heroin after soldiers intercepted a drug trafficking operation by a group of suspects early this morning while patrolling the Ban Kiew Sai Tai-Ban Adi route in Mae Chan District, Chiang Rai Province. They encountered three motorcycles driving together, each loaded with luggage.
When officers identified themselves and requested to inspect the vehicles, one sped away towards Ban Adi in Mae Yao Subdistrict, Mueang Chiang Rai District. The drivers of the other two abandoned their vehicles and took advantage of the darkness to escape, leaving behind six sacks of methamphetamine pills totaling 600,000 pills and 20 bags of heroin, totaling approximately 7 kilograms.
