Hunt for Thief Who Stole 102 Baht Worth of Gold from Mae Sot Shopping Mall

Mae Sot: A robber wearing a rider's uniform brandishing a handgun robbed a gold shop in a famous shopping mall in Mae Sot District, Tak Province. It took him only 1 minute to steal 102 baht worth of gold jewelry before fleeing on a motorcycle.

According to Thai News Agency, surveillance camera footage captured a man in a rider's uniform using a weapon to rob a gold shop inside a well-known shopping mall in Mae Sot Municipality, Mae Sot District, Tak Province. The incident, which took place last night, saw the thief stealing gold necklaces and making a quick escape.

Police inspected the scene and questioned witnesses, discovering that the robber took one tray of gold weighing 10 baht and two trays weighing 2 baht, making a total of 102 baht of gold stolen. The Mae Sot Police Investigation Division is urgently searching for the suspect, described as a thin man, about 165 centimeters tall, wearing a full-face black helmet that completely conceals his face, a rider's uniform, green camouflage-like undershirt, long black jeans, black shoes with white shoelaces, and carrying a large black backpack. The suspect fled on an automatic motorcycle with an unknown license plate, escaping through the side door of the mall using the Mae Sot-Tak route.

Mae Sot Police Station has spread the news and is actively hunting down the perpetrator. Checkpoints have been set up along the Mae Sot border road, which borders Myanmar, to prevent any attempt to escape across the border. As of now, the suspect remains at large.
