Bangkok: General Nattapol Nakphanit, Deputy Defense Minister, has expressed confidence that the acquisition of Gripen aircraft from Sweden will proceed without issues. Addressing concerns raised by Cambodian and Malaysian media, which suggested that the Swedish government might suspend the contract following the aircraft's involvement in air strikes during the recent Thai-Cambodian border conflict, General Nattapol dismissed these reports.
According to Thai News Agency, General Nattapol emphasized that he had not received any official reports regarding a suspension of the purchase. He reassured that the relationship between Thailand and Sweden remains stable and that there are no diplomatic issues that could hinder the transaction.
