Pattaya: A gang of ladyboys in Pattaya has been creating disturbances by engaging in violent altercations, much to the alarm of locals and tourists. The incidents have been occurring frequently, with the latest taking place on Pattaya Klang Road, Soi 2, Village 9, in the Nongprue Subdistrict of Bang Lamung District, Chon Buri Province.
According to Thai News Agency, the altercation happened on February 15, 2025, at 10:30 p.m., involving a fight among ladyboys, who slapped each other in public view, disregarding the presence of tourists. This incident is one of many that have been reported in various areas of Pattaya.
Reporters on the scene interviewed Mr. Thirawat, also known as Piew, a transgender individual who works part-time in the area and was involved in the fight. He described that while playing pool with his foreign girlfriend, an ice cube mysteriously appeared on the ground. As he looked around to identify the source, he recognized the aggressor as Mr. Bella, a transgender and a former senior acquaintance. The tension escalated when Mr. Bella taunted Thirawat, leading to the confrontation captured in a clip.
Following the incident, Thirawat filed a complaint at the Pattaya City Police Station, citing concerns for his safety. He claimed that Bella is part of a group known for using violence without provocation and had previously attacked a Laotian employee on January 15, resulting in injuries.
The security team from a nearby barbershop confirmed that they intervened to break up the fight between the transgenders. They revealed that the group involved in the altercation had been banned from the area due to their violent tendencies. The community remains on edge, with residents expressing fear over the group's regular disruptive behavior, which has led to 5-6 reported incidents in the past two months.
