Former Son-in-Law Arrested for Raping 80-Year-Old Mother-in-Law; Initially Denies All Charges

Pak Chong: A 40-year-old former son-in-law has been arrested for attempting to rape his 80-year-old mother-in-law inside a house in Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The suspect initially denied the charges. Police are confident in the evidence.

According to Thai News Agency, there has been progress in the case involving the 80-year-old woman who faced an attempted rape by her 40-year-old ex-son-in-law at her home in Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The situation was so severe that the woman did not feel safe returning to her home and resorted to sleeping on the street with just a mat and a pillow. The incident took place in the middle of last month.

The investigation team has successfully tracked down and arrested the suspect, Mr. Somkid, in Ubon Ratchathani Province. He was transported by helicopter back to Nakhon Ratchasima Province for further investigation.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Thanayut Wutticharatthamrong, assistant national police chief, has revealed his involvement in the initial interrogation process, during which the suspect continued to deny the charges. Despite the denial, police remain confident in the evidence they have gathered and have ordered a swift and thorough collection of additional evidence. The investigation will also aim to determine if the suspect has been involved in other criminal activities.
