Chiang Mai: Chiang Mai Province still has heavy rain at intervals, especially on Doi Inthanon, where the amount of rain is more than 130 millimeters, causing a huge mass of water to flow into waterfalls and many rivers, overflowing into houses in the riverside community of Chom Thong District. Villagers are worried that there will be a major flood like last year. Meanwhile, in the northern districts of Chiang Mai, roads have been eroded by flash floods until the paths are broken, requiring people to walk to transport patients to the hospital with difficulty.
According to Thai News Agency, the continuous rainfall in the region has led to the overflow of water bodies, exacerbating the situation for residents in the affected areas. The villagers, recalling last year's devastating floods, are expressing concerns over the possibility of a similar event occurring. The rising water levels have already started to inundate homes, posing a threat to the safety and livelihood of those residing in Chom Thong District.
Moreover, the northern districts of Chiang Mai are reporting significant damage to infrastructure as roads have been eroded by the flash floods. This has disrupted transportation, compelling residents to take alternative measures such as walking to transport patients to medical facilities. The condition of the roads has become a critical issue, adding to the challenges faced by the communities in the region.
