Fire Erupts at Route66 Bangkok Restaurant, Prompting Evacuation

Bangkok: A fire erupted at the popular Route66 Bangkok restaurant located in the RCA area, causing panic as patrons quickly evacuated the premises. Firefighters managed to bring the situation under control within 30 minutes.

According to Thai News Agency, the fire broke out at 5:11 PM, prompting a swift response from officers at the Bang Kapi Fire and Rescue Station. The incident occurred at a single-story building on Soi Soonvijai-Rama 9, part of the Huai Khwang District in Bangkok. Thankfully, no individuals were trapped inside the establishment.

The fire originated in a warehouse used for storing items like water tanks and paint, which are typically utilized for shop decorations. Pol. Col. Uramporn Khundetsamrit, Superintendent of Makkasan Police Station, clarified that the building was not connected to the main service establishment, ensuring that the restaurant's structure remained unaffected. Meanwhile, motorists are advised to avoid the Rama 9 Road and Phetchaburi Road areas as investigations into the cause of the fire are underway.
