Krathum Baen: A fire broke out at a plastic pellet factory in Krathum Baen District, Samut Sakhon Province. It took officials almost an hour to bring the fire under control. Damages are estimated to be no less than 10 million.
According to Thai News Agency, officers mobilized more than 15 water trucks to spray water to contain the fire that was raging at Trapsin Industry Co., Ltd. in Krathum Baen District, which is a finished plastic pellet factory, in order to prevent it from spreading to neighboring factories. This is because the area is a factory area with many tenants renting warehouses to produce plastic pellets, so there are a lot of old plastics stored there.
The fire started in a single-story warehouse building on an area of more than 1 rai, which had a lot of old plastic waiting to be recycled before entering the plastic pellet production process. At the time of the incident, there were almost 10 workers working inside, but luckily they all escaped. The fire also spread to two neighboring buildings. It took almost 1 hour to bring the fire under control, but water had to be sprayed to keep it from flaring up again. The cause is under investigation. Initial damages are estimated at no less than 10 million baht.
