Samut Prakan: A father, overwhelmed by his son's drug-induced aggression, fatally stabbed his son during a violent altercation at their home. The tragic incident unfolded when the son demanded money from his father to purchase methamphetamine and alcohol. Upon refusal, the son reportedly attacked his father, leading to the fatal confrontation.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred in a two-story townhouse in Tambon Phraeksa Mai, Amphoe Mueang, Samut Prakan Province. The body of 42-year-old Mr. Prinya was discovered near the front door, with multiple stab wounds to his chest, side, and upper arm. His father, 72-year-old Mr. Prakop, was found at the scene with a minor knife wound and was waiting to surrender to authorities. The police retrieved a folding knife, approximately 20 centimeters in length, from the scene. Mrs. Phayaw, the mother of the deceased and wife of the accused, recounted the events leading up to the confrontation. She stated that her son had approached his father for money to buy drugs and alcohol. Upon being denied, the son became violent, leading to a physical altercation where he strangled his father. Mrs. Phayaw explained that her son regularly asked for money but did not usually become aggressive.
