Election Commission Prepares for 27th Anniversary Celebration with Unity Symbol

Bangkok: The Election Commission (EC) is gearing up to celebrate its 27th anniversary with a special event scheduled for Monday, June 9. The event will be held under the theme '27 years of the EC, uniting the power of Thai citizens, creating sustainable democracy.' Mr. Ittiporn Boonprakong, the Chairman of the EC, along with other commission members and executives, will participate in a ceremony paying homage to Phra Phrom at the Chaeng Watthana Government Complex.

According to Thai News Agency, the celebration will include a religious ceremony featuring Somdej Phra Maha Ratchamangkhun Muni and nine monks from Wat Traimit. Their presence is intended to bring good fortune to the commission, its executives, and officials. Mr. Saeng Boonmee, the EC Secretary-General, along with the Deputy Secretary-General, personally invited the monks to the ceremony.

Preparations for the event include a redesigned venue backdrop featuring a blue and white gradient with the number 27 and the event slogan in brown. The number 27 is uniquely designed using a twisted rope, symbolizing unity, in contrast to previous designs that used a green and standard-shaped number. This new design aligns with the event's concept of "Uniting the strength of Thai citizens to create sustainable democracy."
