Drunk Taxi Driver Crashes Through Fence of Government House Late at Night

Bangkok: A taxi driver, identified as Mr. Siwasit, aged 59, was apprehended after crashing his vehicle into the fence of Government House on Phitsanulok Road in the early hours. The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m., prompting officers from the Dusit Police Station to swiftly respond to the scene. According to Thai News Agency, police found the green and yellow taxi, bearing a Bangkok license plate, lodged into the fence, causing it to collapse. Although no illegal items were discovered during the search of the vehicle, officers noticed a strong smell of alcohol on the driver, who appeared to be intoxicated. Mr. Siwasit admitted to consuming alcohol prior to the incident. Subsequently, he was taken to Dusit Police Station for further questioning, where a breathalyzer test revealed his alcohol level to be 195 milligrams percent, exceeding the legal limit. The police have pressed charges and are proceeding with legal action against Mr. Siwasit.
