Phayao, downstream villagers have to suffer for the second time after rushing to drain water from Kwan Phayao. Meanwhile, Lamphun is still in critical condition due to the mass of water from the north that continues to flow down. Phayao, Thammaprachathorn Foundation, together with military officers from the 34th Military Circle, distributed food and drinking water to villagers in Village No. 4, Ban Fang Min, Dok Kham Tai Subdistrict, Dok Kham Tai District, Phayao Province after the water level remained high due to the water discharge from Kwan Phayao at a high level, which affected downstream villages. The water flooded more than 168 houses for the second time. The water level was 50 to 120 centimeters high. Some villagers were unable to leave their homes, so officers had to provide continuous assistance with food and drinking water. In Chiang Rai Province, the 3rd Infantry Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, organized a public assistance operation team in collaboration with government agencies, local leade rs, and volunteers in Wiang Pa Pao District, Chiang Rai Province, to provide assistance to the people of Huai Sai Khao Village, Ban Pong Subdistrict, Wiang Pa Pao District, who were hit by flash floods on September 23, 2024. The rescue team evacuated 8 people, including 4 men, 1 woman, and 3 children, from the area severely affected by the floods, especially in Huai Sai Khao Village, where many houses were uninhabitable. The rescue team took the victims to a temporary evacuation center at the Ban Pong Subdistrict Administrative Organization. The operation ended last night. The flood situation in Lamphun Province is still critical as the mass of water from the North continues to flow down, causing the Ping River and the Kuang River, the two main rivers that flow through Lamphun, to continue to overflow their banks and flood houses in 5 districts. In some places, the water is almost 2 meters high. Villagers have had to move their belongings to higher ground and are stuck inside their homes waiting for help fro m the government and private companies to urgently deliver their belongings. Mr. Santithorn Yimlamai, Governor of Lamphun Province, has warned the public about the water situation in the Kuang River. At the water level measurement point at Saphan Tha Nang, Mueang Lamphun District, the water level is 6.13 centimeters, 1.13 meters higher than the critical point of 5 meters, and is likely to rise due to the amount of water flowing down from the upstream area in Chiang Mai Province. Therefore, the public in Mueang Lamphun District, Pa Sang District, Ban Thi District, Ban Hong District, Wiang Nong Long District, who live along the Kuang River and the Ping River and its tributaries, are asked to move their belongings to higher ground to avoid the rising water level. Villagers in Village No. 1, Phong Pheng Subdistrict, Pa Mok District, Ang Thong Province rushed to fill sandbags to set up a flood barrier along the Chao Phraya River in front of Wat Thanon after the water level continued to rise since yesterday eveni ng until it overflowed and flooded several areas. Villagers had to quickly set up a flood barrier to keep up with the rapidly rising water level. Similarly, villagers in Village No. 3, Phong Pheng Subdistrict, which has no dam to prevent flooding, have already overflowed the banks and flooded houses and the water level has risen rapidly. In some places, it is higher than 50 cm. The Phong Pheng Subdistrict Administrative Organization officers had to help villagers bring out their existing tents and set them up on the Phong Pheng-Bang Ban Road to prepare to move their belongings to a safe place. In Phong Pheng Subdistrict, there are more than 20 houses in Villages 1, 2, 3, and 4 that have been flooded and the water is still spreading. While the water level in the Chao Phraya River flowing through Ang Thong Province continues to rise, the latest data from the Central Irrigation Hydrology Center reports that the water level flowing through the Chao Phraya Dam in Chai Nat Province is 1,867 cubic meters per second , causing the water level at the C7A water station, Office of the 12th Irrigation, in front of Ang Thong Provincial Hall, to be 7.02 meters/MSL, an increase of 0.43 meters from yesterday.
