Court Denies Bail to Members of Soup-Pouring Gang

Thanyaburi: The court denied bail to the 8 members of the soup-pouring gang, sending them to prison. The suspects were swiftly taken to Thanyaburi Prison following the court's decision.

According to Thai News Agency, the case involved senior student Mr. Rasipha or Preem, aged 22, and Mr. Chakatphon or Oshi, aged 19, who physically abused a junior student by pouring hot soup over him, causing injuries and blisters. The victim's ordeal also included having his hair shaved and being threatened for extortion. This incident led to the arrest of Preem and Oshi by Khlong Luang Police Station, who further investigated and arrested six additional individuals connected to the gang. The group was involved in extorting money from a victim who had previously dated Preem. After their breakup, Preem demanded the return of a worn-out item he had bought her, leading to a forced transfer of 6,050 baht. Notably, one gang member, 'Pim Gel,' a rising star, was reported to have slapped the victim with a shoe before the group dispersed.

Earlier today, officers from Khlong Luang Police Station escorted the eight suspects, including Mr. Rasipha or Preem, Mr. Chakatphon or Oshi, Mr. Nopphakhun or Jack, Mr. Donlathee or Paul, Ms. Umbun or Umbun, Ms. Kanyaphat or Pimjel, Ms. Waranya or Bam, and Mr. Phradon or Ice, to the Thanyaburi Provincial Court for their first detention period. As they were being led to the transport vehicle, reporters attempted to question the suspects about their feelings of guilt or if they had any statements, but none responded. Only Phradon denied involvement in the offense.

With the court's decision to deny bail, all eight suspects have been sent to Thanyaburi Prison, awaiting further legal proceedings.
