Close the Forest to Hunt Down the Brutal Husband Who Killed His Ex-Wife and Younger Brother

Wiang Kaen: Officers from Wiang Kaen Police Station have joined forces with rangers to seal off the forest area around Ban Por, Wiang Kaen District, Chiang Rai Province, in an effort to apprehend a brutal husband accused of murdering his ex-wife and her younger brother.

According to Thai News Agency, Wiang Kaen Police Station collaborated with the local government, the 31st Ranger Regiment, and the Wiang Kaen District Chief to secure the forest area surrounding the village in Moo 15, Por Subdistrict. This operation aims to track down and arrest 55-year-old Mr. Song Po, who allegedly used a knife to fatally slash the body and face of his ex-wife, Ms. Tong, aged 48, on the evening of June 6, before fleeing the scene. The following day, authorities discovered the body of Mr. Chanchai, Ms. Tong's younger brother and a member of the Por Subdistrict Administrative Organization Council, who had been shot dead in a garden in the same subdistrict.

Relatives initially reported that Ms. Tong had previously lived with Mr. Song Po, but they separated more than a year ago. However, prior to the incident on June 5, Ms. Tong returned to live with Mr. Song Po. Concerned for her safety, the deceased's daughter went to check on her mother at the scene, only to find the house locked from the inside. She enlisted the help of relatives to peer through a window, discovering her mother lying dead across the bedroom door. Authorities were promptly notified to investigate the scene. Relatives believe the two murders are connected and suspect Mr. Song Po as the perpetrator. Multiple law enforcement units are currently working urgently to locate and apprehend Mr. Song Po to bring him to justice.
