Chitra Meethong Remains Tight-Lipped on Possible Political Moves Involving Santi Promphat

Bangkok: Ms. Chitra Meethong, advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has declined to comment on whether Mr. Santi Promphat, deputy leader of the Palang Pracharath Party, would transfer MPs to join the Bhumjaithai Party. Ms. Chitra suggested that such matters are for senior officials to deliberate upon.

According to Thai News Agency, during an interview, Ms. Chitra revealed her longstanding acquaintance with Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, and leader of the Bhumjaithai Party. She indicated that Mr. Anutin sought her assistance due to their established relationship and her presence in the area.

When pressed about Mr. Santi's potential move, Ms. Chitra reiterated that the decision lies with higher authorities, leaving her uncertain about the developments. Her responses remained consistent when asked if she would accompany Mr. Santi in any political transition, emphasizing her lack of knowledge and deferring to the decisions of senior figures.

As for the status of Mr. Santi's group and any concluded agreements, Ms. Chitra chose not to respond further. She promptly exited Government House, leaving the questions unanswered.
