Cabinet Extends Emergency Decree in Three Border Provinces for 80th Time

Bangkok: The Cabinet has approved the extension of the declaration of a state of emergency in three southern border provinces for another three months, from April 20 to July 19, 2025. This marks the 80th extension of the emergency decree in these regions.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Anukul Prueksanusak, the deputy government spokesman, stated that the emergency decree will continue to be enforced in Narathiwat Province, excluding Yi-ngo, Su-ngai Kolok, Waeng, and Sukhirin districts. In Pattani Province, the decree will not apply to Yaring, Panare, Mayo, Mai Kaen, Thung Yang Daeng, Kapho, and Mae Lan districts. Meanwhile, in Yala Province, Betong, Yaha, Raman, Kabang, and Krong Pinang districts will remain exempt from the emergency measures.

The decision to extend the emergency decree is part of the government's ongoing efforts to maintain stability and security in these areas, which have experienced unrest. The extension aims to provide the authorities with necessary powers to manage any potential threats and ensure public safety in the affected provinces.
