Cabinet Appoints New Directors-General in Key Health and Social Development Departments

Bangkok: The Cabinet has announced the appointment of Phongsathorn Pokpermdee as the new Director-General of the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine. The decision was made during a Cabinet meeting, where several other key appointments were also confirmed.

According to Thai News Agency, the spokesman for the Prime Minister's Office, Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, revealed the results of the Cabinet meeting. Among the appointments, Mr. Montien Kanasawat was named Director-General of the Department of Disease Control, succeeding his role as Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Health. Mr. Phongsathorn Pokpermdee, also a Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Health, was appointed to lead the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine.

In the social development sector, Mr. Chokchai Wichianchaiya, previously the Director-General of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, was appointed as Director-General of the Department of Older Persons Affairs. Additionally, Ms. Sonthaya Bunyaphusit, who served as Inspector-General of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, was appointed as Director-General of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. These appointments were proposed by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security.
