Narathiwat: The perpetrators planted a bomb on a vehicle of the 7th Marine Corps Ranger Company in Narathiwat Province at the foot of the Talubo Bridge, Tambon Pakaharang, Amphoe Mueang, Pattani Province. Nine people were injured and one villager was hit by shrapnel, but is safe.
According to Thai News Agency, the perpetrators planted a bomb in an armored pickup truck belonging to the 7th Marine Ranger Company in Narathiwat Province at the foot of Talubo Bridge, Village 1, Pakaharang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Pattani Province. The perpetrators used an improvised explosive device in a metal box and placed it there before detonating it while the officers' vehicle was passing by. The force of the explosion caused the vehicle to be hit by shrapnel all around it. Meanwhile, 9 rangers were injured, suffering from tinnitus and chest tightness. They were taken to Pattani Hospital.
There was also a villager driving a truck following the officers who was hit by shrapnel in the torso. He is safe. Officers believe that it was the work of the same group that planted a bomb on a teacher's security unit, injuring 9 Mae Lan police officers yesterday.
