Bomb Attack Injures Four Rangers in Bannang Sata District

Yala: The perpetrators planted a bomb in front of the rangers in Bannang Sata District, Yala Province, injuring four members of the tactical operation unit. This incident occurred while 10 rangers from the 3306th Ranger Company were patrolling to maintain the safety of the people in Village No. 3, Ban Ngo Kapo, Tambon Bannang Sata, Amphoe Bannang Sata, Yala Province. During their patrol, a hidden assailant triggered a bomb, resulting in injuries to the rangers.

According to Thai News Agency, the injured rangers include Sergeant Phirachai Salaewa, who suffered from tinnitus and chest tightness; Volunteer Ranger Chatchai Nanthakornpreeda, who sustained minor injuries; Volunteer Ranger Suwan Nanthakan, experiencing tinnitus and chest tightness; and Volunteer Ranger Phoncharoen Yokpunphondee, also with symptoms of tinnitus and chest tightness. The injured were promptly taken to Bannang Sata Hospital for treatment.

Currently, Pol. Col. Atthaphon Kulwongmanaso, Superintendent of Bannang Sata Police Station, has instructed police officers and village security forces to secure the area. This precautionary measure was taken to ensure safety before officers from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit, officers from Forensic Science Center 10 Yala, and other relevant agencies proceed with a detailed inspection.

Authorities suspect that the attack was carried out by a group of insurgents operating within Bannang Sata District and adjacent areas, aiming to create unrest.
