Chanthaburi: Barbed wire has been strategically placed by the Chanthaburi Marine Division along natural channels to tackle illegal immigration and the smuggling of contraband goods.
According to Thai News Agency, the Chanthaburi Marine Corps Task Force, under the leadership of the 4th Marine Ranger Control Unit, initiated the deployment of personnel to lay concertina wire at critical points in natural passages. These areas, located in Village No. 4, Khlong Yai Subdistrict, Pong Nam Ron District of Chanthaburi Province, are suspected to be routes used by foreigners to illegally enter and transport prohibited goods into the country.
The move to reinforce border security highlights ongoing measures to address illegal activities in the region. The deployment of barbed wire is intended to serve as a deterrent to those attempting to exploit these natural channels for unauthorized entry and smuggling purposes.
