Bang Rakam Residents Endure Months of Flooding Due to Water Management Model

Phitsanulok: Bang Rakam residents face flooding for more than three months a year. Although the rain has now stopped, many areas remain submerged in floodwaters, particularly in areas like Thung Bang Rakam in Phitsanulok Province, known as the Bang Rakam Model, which must absorb water from the North and prevent it from flowing to the central region.

According to Thai News Agency, many villagers have to endure flooding for at least three months each year. Many families live in houses flooded up to the second floor, while others have been forced to live on the side of the road. This has become a source of misery for Bang Rakam residents, who face prolonged flooding every year.
