Bangkok: The Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) has been awarded the Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards (APEA) 2025 in the Corporate Excellence Award category. According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chatchai Sirilai, President of BAAC, received the award in a ceremony organized by Enterprise Asia, a business development organization focused on promoting innovation and sustainability in the Asia-Pacific region. The event, held under the theme 'Showcasing Future-Ready Enterprises,' was presided over by Mr. Pongpol Yodmuangcharoen, Secretary to the Minister of Industry, at The Athenee Hotel in Bangkok. Mr. Chatchai expressed that the award highlights BAAC's effective resource and personnel management, reflecting its mission to be a "Sustainable Rural Development Bank." BAAC aims to operate as both a "sustainable bank" and promote a "sustainable rural area." The bank has devised strategies to enhance operational efficiency ("Perform" dimension) and transform work methods ("Transform" dimension) to create improved experiences. This includes refining processes, managing products, and strengthening loans. BAAC's framework focuses on building robust systems (hard side) while fostering employee engagement (soft side) to achieve sustainable growth. To advance as a "Sustainable Rural Area," BAAC operates under the "Essence of Agriculture" ethos, guided by governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) principles. Its management structure balances roles and responsibilities (3 Lines of Defense), addressing economic, social, and environmental factors in line with Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. This approach ensures BAAC remains adaptable to global changes, prioritizing environmental concerns and aspiring for carbon neutrality. The APEA 2025 Corporate Excellence Award signifies international recognition of BAAC's dedication to enhancing the agricultural sector and improving the quality of life for Thai farmers, fostering stable and sustainable growth.
