Kanchanaburi: Arrest warrants have been issued for four members of the gang that kidnapped and killed DJ Tete, charging them with several serious crimes. The family has now received the body and revealed the autopsy results, showing that two bullets to the head were the cause of death.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Lt. Gen. Naiwat Phadumchit, Commander of Provincial Police Region 7, traveled to the Kanchanaburi Provincial Police Headquarters to meet with investigators on the case involving Mr. Warapong Khunsrichaturong, known as DJ Tete, aged 33. Following the meeting, Pol. Maj. Gen. Pornchai Chalodech, Commander of Kanchanaburi Provincial Police, disclosed that Mr. Thanadet, one of the accomplices, has been arrested. The court has approved arrest warrants for four other individuals: Mr. Narongdet, Mr. Phakhanat, Mr. Nopphichit, and Mr. Tharathep, who face five severe charges including coercion, gang or banditry, murder, and possession of firearms without permission.
The police are actively searching for the suspects, believed to have fled Kanchanaburi Province but still residing in Thailand. The four individuals with arrest warrants are accused of identifying the target, driving the car, and participating in DJ Tete's abduction and murder. At Kanchanaburi City Police Station, investigators questioned Thanadet, who appeared visibly stressed during the session.
Recently, DJ Tete's relatives transported his body to the Police General Hospital's Institute of Forensic Medicine early in the morning. Later, DJ Tete's uncle, authorized by the family, collected the body for religious ceremonies in Kanchanaburi Province. The autopsy revealed death from gunshot wounds to the head.
DJ Tete's uncle expressed concerns about the family's safety, noting that the perpetrators are influential in the area. Despite residing outside Kanchanaburi Province, he has been closely following the news, aware of the perpetrators' potential mobility and drug-dealing networks. The family seeks assurance of their safety, especially with their livelihoods at stake in the area.
DJ Tete's family is preparing a chanting ceremony at their home in Kanchanaburi Province. Due to the time elapsed since his death, water will not be poured on the body. The atmosphere is somber, with DJ Tete's mother in tears. The ceremony is scheduled for three nights, culminating in a cremation on May 22 at Wat Nong Krathum.
